Rajasthan: 400 investors register for 2-day summit

JAIPUR: Nearly 400 investors have registered to attend the two-day ‘Invest Rajasthan 2022’ summit scheduled to be held on October 7 and 8, for which the state government has inked MoUs and LoIs worth over Rs 10 lakh crore.
Registrations were opened about ten days ago for the event that has been rescheduled twice due to the Covid pandemic. Both Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and industries minister Shakuntala Rawat have written letters to the bigwigs of the India Inc, inviting them to attend the summit that is expected to host 2,500 businessmen in the country.
Notable among those who have confirmed their participation include Sanjeev Bajaj of Bajaj Auto, DCM Sriram chairman Ajay Sriram, Toyota Kirloskar Motor vice-chairman Vikram Kirloskar, Tata Power CEO and MD Praveer Sinha, Volvo Group India president and MD Kamal Bali, Saint-Gobain’s B Santhanam, IHCL CEO Puneet Chhatwal and CK Birla of CK Birla Group.
During the summit, the state government will showcase its strengths as a destination for investments in various sectors. The state is expected to pitch its mining sector high as it has the country’s second largest base for minerals. It will also draw the attention of investors to the advantages the agriculture sector offers. According to the website dedicated to the summit, Rajasthan is the number one producer of medicinal and aromatic crops, mustard, garlic, isabgol, coriander and guar gum.
To showcase the state’s strengths, the summit will have separate sessions on tourism, agri businesses and MSMEs, among others. Panel discussions on future-ready sectors, start-ups and Non-Resident Rajasthanis will also be held during the event.
