Pune: Student pillion rider dies in bike collision

PUNE: A 17-year-old pillion rider, student Deepak Ashok Aware of Mohammadwadi road, was killed, while the motorcycle rider Abhishekh Aware (22) sustained injuries on his head in a collision between two bikes at Salunke Vihar around 8.30pm on Friday. The other motorcycle rider sped away from the spot.
Police on Saturday registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the other motorcycle rider after Abhishekh lodged a complaint.
Assistant inspector Lekhaji Shinde of the Kondhwa police said "Deepak and Abhishekh are cousins. They stay together. On Friday, after studying all day, they decided to eat out. Both were heading towards a snacks centre at Salunke Vihar when the accident took place."
