The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) today announced that its shareholders ratified the appointment of Ashishkumar Chauhan as managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO).
"At the Extra Ordinary General Meeting (EOGM) of NSE, an Ordinary Resolution was passed to consider and approve/ratify the appointment of Mr Ashishkumar Chauhan as a Director in the capacity of Managing Director & CEO," NSE said in a statement.
The EOGM was held on August 11, in which 99.99 per cent of voters approved the appointment.
Chauhan, earlier the Managing Director and CEO of rival BSE, took charge last month. Chauhan replaced Vikram Limaye, whose five-year tenure ended on July 15.
He was part of the founding team of NSE but left it in 2000 for various roles at group before returning to the stock exchange arena as deputy CEO of BSE in 2009 and then as CEO in 2012.
