JAIPUR: The city police on Saturday arrested a 26-year-old man within 24 hours after he had murdered his friend in a drunken condition by smashing his head on the floor. SHO (Daulatpura) Narendra Khichar said that the police have arrested the accused, Sanjeev Pal, a resident of Hardoi in
Uttar Pradesh.
Police said that Nirbhay Pal, was also a resident of Hathroi district in Uttar Pradesh. "He lived with his room partner, Sanjeev Kumar Pal in Jaipur. The victim worked at a plastic factory here," said SHO (Daulatpura) Narendra Khichar.
Police said that the duo consumed liquor on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. "There were other tenants in the building who lived on a floor above them. They did not participate in the party and went to sleep after dinner," he said.
Police suspect that a quarrel broke out between Sanjeev and Nirbhay. "The accused pushed him down on the floor. Nirbahy's head was smashed, and he was knocked unconscious," Khichar said.
As per police, the accused did not inform anyone about the incident and went to sleep in a different room. "He did not seek any emergency medical support for his friend. He informed neither the police nor an ambulance," Khichar said, adding that the accused woke up in the morning and found his friend dead.
Police said the accused called up one of the victim's relatives about the incident, who in turn, rang up the building owner. A police team soon went to the building and found blood all over the floor and walls. A forensic team collected evidence from the room. As per the police, Sanjeev had already fled from the house.
