Marlon 'Chito' Vera stopped Dominick Cruz in the headliner of UFC San Diego 2022. Vera and Cruz organized an exciting event, and the fight lived up to the hype. From the first minute, the former Ecuadorian bantamweight Vera was seemingly in great shape. He overpowered former UFC and WEC champion Cruz with various strikes, takedowns, feints, and different styles.

Vera, on the other hand, demonstrated that he only needed one massive blow to end the night's events. In the fourth round, the Ecuadorian landed a vicious head kick that knocked Cruz out, safeguarding the victory.

Nate Landwehr and David Onama placed one of the most exciting fights in recent times in the co-main occurrence. After three rounds, Landwehr won by unanimous decision after two judges went on to score the fight in his favor, and a third judge managed to achieve a draw. When the featherweights won 'Fight of the Night,' Landwehr and Onama were awarded $50,000 for their efforts.

Yazmin Jauregui of Mexico won a hard-fought unanimous verdict. The 23-year-old fought alongside fellow newcomer Iasmin Lucindo. In the end, Jauregui's power and volume were instrumental in her victory.
