3,000 'accident-free' Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation staffers to be honoured

BENGALURU: Of 27,000-odd Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) employees, 3,136 have been identified as 'accident-free', based on a set criteria to judge their performance.
The parameters were punctuality, public interaction, customer ratings, complaint history, discipline, among others.
Officials said 11% of employees were selected from a pool of drivers, conductors, maintenance and mechanical staff, etc. for setting an example for their peers with their work.
On Tuesday, 168 of them will be awarded gold medals and 2,968 silver at a ceremony at Samudhaya Bhavana in Katriguppe.
