HYDERABAD: Students from
Andhra Pradesh dominated the Telangana Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance (TS Eamcet) results announced on Friday. Of top five rank-holders in engineering and agriculture-medicine streams, only one student was from Hyderabad - K Maheeth Anjan - who secured fourth rank in medical stream.
The topper in the engineering stream was Polu Lohith Reddy from Ongole, whose parents are government teachers in Andhra Pradesh.
Toppers eye IITs, NITs, AIIMS He scored 151.61 marks. Toppers in medical and agriculture streams were Juturi Neha from Tenali, who scored 154.14 marks and comes from a family of doctors.
Majority toppers are aspiring for IITs, NITs and AIIMS. "I focused on IIT preparations and did not separately prepare for Eamcet. I would study for 8-10 hours every day. The only challenge in the last two years was to remain undistracted by devices meant for online classes," said Lohith Reddy. He dreams of pursuing computer science in IIT-Bombay and his JEE Mains rank was 27. The second rank was bagged by N Sai Deepthika, third by Polishetty Karthikeya, fourth by P Jalajakshi and fifth by M Hima Vamsi. All five engineering toppers are hoping to get through to IIT-Bombay in computer science stream.
The topper from medical stream Juturi Neha's father Shiva Prasad shared his daughter's success mantra, saying study for 16 hours. "She is from a family of doctors and had our guidance all along. Teachers helped her in following the right study pattern," he said. She aspires to be a neurologist. The second rank holder was V Rohit, third spot was bagged by K Tarun Kumar, fourth by K Maheeth Anjan and fifth by Guntupalli Sriram.
