KALYAN: Fed up with several complaints to Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) in Maharashtra's Thane district, the traffic police in Dombivli on Friday has come to the rescue of commuters.
The traffic police on Friday filled most of the potholes on the busy stretch from Tilak Chowck to Shelar Naka Area Road in Dombivli.
A senior traffic police official, who didn't wish to be named, said, "Due to potholes, commuters were facing a lot of difficulties."
They had complained to the KDMC officials, but authorities turned deaf ears.
This year KDMC is spending over Rs 15 crore to fill potholes on roads in the twin city but in reality many roads are full of potholes.
This monsoons season so far six people have died due to potholes on roads across Thane district.
