Mumbai doctor pays Rs 34 lakh for a Rs 63 lakh car he never got

MUMBAI: A doctor working with the civic-run Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital in Kandivli West was duped by a car seller who offered to sell him a luxury Audi at a cheaper price, but did not keep the promise.
The seller had promised the doctor he would sell him a Rs 63 lakh Audi at Rs 34 lakh. Between August and September 2021, the car seller accepted Rs 34 lakh from the doctor but never delivered the vehicle. He later returned the doctor Rs 9 lakh, but cheques of some of the balance due were dishonoured, Kandivali police said.
