Mumbai: BEST driver held for death of pedestrian

MUMBAI: A BEST bus driver was arrested by the Samta Nagar police after he knocked down a pedestrian, resulting in her death, in Kandivli East. The fatal crash occurred around 9.15 pm on August 9 near Thakur House.
Bus number A-289 was headed to Kandivli station from Anita Nagar. While taking a right turn at Thakur House, a 50-year-old pedestrian, Lata Chaturvedi, suffered a hit from the front left side of the bus. She was rushed to Sancheti Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries the next morning.
