Telangana cabinet nod for 10 lakh more Aasara pensions from August 15

HYDERABAD: The Telangana cabinet on Thursday approved sanctioning of 10 lakh new Aasara pensions beginning August 15, taking the number of beneficiaries in the state to 46 lakh. The cabinet also gave its nod to release 75 prisoners on the occasion of 75th Independence day celebrations. The planned special assembly session and local body meeting on August 21 to commemorate 75 years of Independence has been cancelled.
During the more than five-hour meeting, the cabinet made several decisions to improve the state's medical infrastructure, including construction of a new ENT tower at the existing ENT hospital in Koti and appointment of 10 specialists. The Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital will also be rebuilt with cutting-edge technology.
The Cabinet also agreed to fill 5,111 vacant anganwadi teacher and aaya vacancies as soon as possible. As part of 'Swatantra Bharat Vajrotsava' celebrations, the cabinet decided to hold mass singing of national anthem on August 16 at 11.30 am.
The cabinet also directed the chief secretary to expedite distribution of pattas to the poor under GO 58 and 59 while resolving to fix problems faced by people attempting to build houses in 'grama kantams'. A committee will be preparing a report in 15 days in this regard.
The cabinet also allotted land parcels for various purposes, including 15 acres for construction of Auto Nagar in Vikarabad. Tandoor market committee in Yala was given 30 acres, while TSIIC was allotted 45 acres in Shabad for establishment of stone polishing units.
