Jaipur: Rural development minister Ramesh Meena has questioned his own government on Rajya Sabha MP Dr Kirori Lal Meena being given a long rope despite creating nuisance regularly.
The minister asked, “What is the compulsion of this government that Kirori Lal is not being arrested when more than five cases are pending against him? All the reports have been done, yet he is not being arrested”.
He added, “I want to tell our chief minister that he creates nuisance daily. How much of the administration was involved because of his rally, how many people were inconvenienced and why police are not arresting such a person? what is compulsion?”
Kirori Lal Meena has been protesting for the last few days seeking a revised DPR on the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP). On Tuesday, he traveled to Jaipur with his supporters for various demands, although he had called it off after talks with the minister Vishvendra Singh.
Ramesh Meena, who defeated Dr Kirori's wife Golam Devi in the last assembly elections in Sapotra seat said, “I have said many times that such people have ceased to exist. Still, to remain in politics, he arrogantly starts some agitation under some pretexts regularly.”
Ramesh Meena said Kirori Lal had to end the journey due to thin crowd.
Meena said this DPR of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) was made in 2017 when chief minister Vasundhara Raje was there.
“People like Kirori Lal wanted to create obstacles to show off his power. Power should be used at the right place at the right time, but his job is to do politics over the dead bodies. Wherever he gets a chance, he does that. I don’t think he has done any good work which has benefited people,” alleged Ramesh Meena.
