Indian-American journalist Uma Pemmaraju was one of the few anchors that helped launch the network and she now is no more with us.

Fox News has lost one of its original anchors as Indian-American journalist Uma Pemmaraju has passed away. She was 64. Uma was a part of shows like The Fox Report, Fox News Live, Fox On Trends, and Fox News Now in her stint with Fox News.

Suzanne Scott, Fox News Media CEO, said that they are very sad about the demise of Uma Pemmaraju, who was one of the original founding anchors of Fox News. She noted that Uma was there the day Fox News launched.

She said that Uma was incredibly talented and a lovely and warm person. She was known for her kindness towards everyone she worked with. She said she would like to extend her condolences to Uma's entire family.

Uma Pemmaraju received many Emmy Awards in her career for investigative reporting and journalism. She was also awarded The Woman of Achievement Award by the Big Sisters Organization of America, the Texas AP Award, and the Matrix Award from the Women in Communications for reporting. The anchor was born in India but was raised in San Antonio, Texas. She got a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University, Texas, in political science.

She started her television career in Texas at the San Antonio Express-News and KENS-TV. While still at Trinity, she was a reporter and producer at the San Antonio Express-News newspaper.

Uma has also been her college newspaper's editor and moved to Dallas's KTVT-11 as a correspondent and a news anchor. Later, she moved to Baltimore to WMAR-TV and won an Emmy there. She went to WBZ-TV and WLVI in and was a tipster/producer and correspondent for WBZ's Evening Magazine.
