It, however, should not be held as token and name-sake,” said Lakshminarayana. He wanted youth to take a proactive role in organizing different events to commemorate the event. He said that youth should participate in heritage walks, thematic workshops, museum tours to improve their knowledge of history, particularly the freedom movement. He asked them to improve their oratory skills in multiple languages to excel in their professions. “Learning and speaking in multiple languages in public forums will simply take them to the further heights in life,” said Lakshminarayana.

Hindu college of management principal, Dr SV Ramana observed that youth should not forget the roots of the freedom they were enjoying. “The new generation has shifted the focus to fully career-oriented courses like engineering, medicine and management. He said that the response from the students for the competitions on freedom struggle has literally surprised them as huge number of students sent their entries.

He said that they were privileged to host the Intach events in the college. He explained that they would continue the competitions in drama, painting, sports and other segments till Independence Day.
