Mumbai: Three on bike fire rounds in air at Linking Road shopping centre

MUMBAI: Three youngsters on a bike fired three rounds in the air of which one hit the board of Gazebo Shipping Centre in Bandra (West) on Thursday. The unknown trio, before leaving the place, threatened shop owners and locals not to set up hawkers. No one is reported to have been injured in the firing.
Khar police are in the process of registering a first information report against unidentified persons.
Before speeding away, one of the accused threw a letter at the shopping centre, warning to be killed if any hawkers put stalls nearby or outside the shopping centre.
DCP (Zone IX) Manjunath Singe said there is an incident of firing reported in the jurisdiction of Khar Police Station.
"Unidentified persons have fired in the air and on the board of Gazebo Shopping Centre on Linking Road. No one is injured. Investigations are on."
A Khar police officer said the bullets were fired between 7.15 pm and 7.30pm.
DCP has formed a team that is analysing the closed-circuit television (CCTV) to locate the route that the biker and the two pillions have taken to speed away. The exact motive will be known only after the trio is nabbed.
Gazebo Shopping in Bandra West is a well-known establishment that acts as a one-stop destination servicing the category western readymade garment retailers in Mumbai.
