Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.25% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:50AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Zydus Lifesciences(up 1.66 per cent), Lupin(up 1.32 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 1.26 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 1.06 per cent) and Laurus(up 1.0 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Natco Pharma(down 4.7 per cent), Abbott India(down 1.03 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 1.01 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(down 0.58 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(down 0.43 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.25 per cent at 12983.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 149.2 points at 17683.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 585.2 points at 59402.49.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., JP Power, YES Bank, and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of eMudhra Ltd., Ltd., , and Nava Bharat Vent. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , Agni Green Power Ltd., , and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
