Covid active cases breach 4K mark in state; 1,400 in Jaipur

Jaipur: Covid active cases have increased by 8.6% in the state and 11% in Jaipur in 24 hours. With this, active cases in state rose to 4,142 while in Jaipur it stood at 1,400. The state reported 580 new Covid cases in 24 hours taking its overall tally to 12,98,394. No death has been reported. The toll stands at 9,590.
The health department on Tuesday worked hard and collected 20,299 samples. On Monday, they had managed to collect just 3,453 samples.
A health department official said they are focusing on strengthening surveillance by collecting more samples. Highest number of samples were collected from Jaipur (2,509), followed by Alwar (2112), Ajmer (1454), Pali (1427) and Bharatpur (1350). Besides, 251 persons were declared recovered from the virus in 24 hours.
In 24 hours, Jaipur reported 139 cases, the highest in the state, followed by Alwar (112), Udaipur (72), Dausa (55), Bharatpur (35), Chittorgarh (32), Jodhpur (25), Nagaur (20), Kota (19). TNN
