Varanasi: Reacting sharply to Noida's Shrikant Tyagi episode, deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Tuesday spoke highly of the law and order situation in UP, saying that “today, there is rule of law in the state. Anybody who commits crime will face legal action.”
Asked by reporters about the arrest of Noida BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi from Meerut for abusing and misbehaving with women, Maurya said, “Anybody committing crime, irrespective of the position one holds, will have to face action as rule of law prevails in UP.”
Later, while addressing the valedictory day session of BJP OBC Morcha’s three-day state training programme, Maurya called upon the Morcha leaders to pledge for ensuring party’s victory in each of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP in the 2024 general elections.
He said, “The entire anti-national forces had united to stop BJP from retaining power in the 2022 assembly polls in the state. They knew it well that stopping Prime Minister Narendra Modi to retain power at centre in 2024 would become easy if BJP is stopped in UP in 2022. But, the people of the state foiled the bid by giving a historical majority to BJP in UP.”
Maurya called upon the Morcha leaders to pledge for making all possible efforts to ensure that BJP wins all 80 LS seats in UP in the 2024 election as this victory would lay the foundation of India’s future for the next 25 years. He highlighted achievements of the Modi government, including toilet, housing, power connection, health facilities and insurance, free vaccination against Covid-19, free ration and others.
Speaking about achievements of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he said that the Yogi government in UP ended the menace of mafia and goonda elements and replaced the state of fear as it existed before 2017 by re-establishing the rule of law. “Yogi government removed darkness by ensuring availability of power for urban and rural areas and executed all programmes of the Modi government in the state successfully,” he added.
Days are gone when kanwariyas faced cane charge, he said adding, now flower petals are being showered on them in BJP rule, which ensured disposal of 500 years old dispute of Ram Janmabhoomi through Supreme Court and also laying of foundation of a grand temple in Ayodhya. Problems faced by devotees in Kashi were cleared by developing grand Kashi Vishwanath Dham, he said recalling the participation of 24 crore people in the last Kumbh at Prayagraj.
Maurya called upon Morcha leaders and office-bearers to go among people and keep talking about the achievements of double engine government. People should be made about vision of Modi that BJP does not contest election to and form government but to serve the people, he added.
In his address at the event, state organising secretary Sunil Bansal cautioned cadres against the evils generated after being in power for long and advised them to stay focused on the principles of the organisation.
UP minister Bhupendra Chaudhary also addressed the event in which UP minister Dayashankar Singh and MP Sangamlal Gupta also remained present while Morcha’s state chief Narendra Kashyap proposed the vote of thanks.
