Independence Day, a national holiday in India, is observed annually on 15 August. Independence Day marks the end of British rule in 1947 and the establishment of a free and independent Indian nation. It also marks the anniversary of the partition of the subcontinent into two countries, India and Pakistan, which took place on the midnight of August 14–15, 1947. (In Pakistan, Independence Day is celebrated on 14 August.)

Independence Day is the biggest festival of democracy for all Indians. We celebrate Independence Day every year on 15th August because on this day we got independence from British rule and our first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was elected. It is not only to mark our independence from the invaders who ruled the country for 200 years, but also to celebrate the right of every Indian to live freely and enjoy all other constitutional rights that India has. Shine splendidly in the Constitution.
It is a day to remind everyone that freedom does not come easily to anyone. It is a day to remember the sacrifices of lakhs of freedom fighters who fought valiantly against the British, not only to get their land back, but also to fight oppression, elitism, the brutal brutality of their rule and the various rights of undermining also for.
Independence Day celebrations begin early in the morning at the Red Fort in Delhi where the Prime Minister of India delivers a quick speech. Before reaching the Red Fort, PM also visits India Gate to honor the sacrifice of our martyrs and pays tribute to them. After this the Prime Minister hoists the tricolor flag.
Each color in the flag of India signifies a different spirit of the nation. Where saffron is for glory and happiness, white is for peace and green is for faith. At the center of our flag is an Ashoka Chakra with 24 evenly distributed spikes.
Celebrating 75th Independence Day, we remember the glorious sacrifice of our freedom fighters with our hands on our hearts and promise to maintain the spirit of brotherhood and peace in the country. We promise to do our best to contribute to our free land.
