Hyderabad: 3-year-old thrashed by dad dies, police book murder case

HYDERABAD: A three-year-old girl, who suffered a major injury after her father banged her on the floor on Saturday, succumbed on Tuesday while undergoing treatment.
Saifabad police said they would alter the attempt-to-murder charge to murder against Basith Khan. He has been taken into custody.
On Saturday, Basith got annoyed after he told his daughter to stop playing in the washroom of their house at AC Guards in Saifabad, but she refused and didn't come out for long. He allegedly began beating her ruthlessly and when his pregnant wife tried to intervene, he shoved her away and she too fell down. He beat the girl with hands and then with a long spoon. He later grabbed her and flung her on the floor, police said, adding that Khan left home after beating the child.
The girl started frothing from the mouth and the girl’s mother shifted her to Niloufer Hospital.After his wife called Basith reached hospital, police said. The couple have four daughters. They are expecting their fifth child. victim was their third child.
