
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of ICICI Bank(up 1.41 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 1.23 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 0.34 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.34 per cent) and HDFC Bank(up 0.29 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, State Bank of India(down 1.1 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 1.05 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.88 per cent), Axis Bank(down 0.88 per cent) and AU Small Finance Bank(down 0.75 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.13 per cent up at 38287.85.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 9.65 points at 17534.75, while the BSE Sensex stood down 35.78 points at 58817.29.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.
Shares of JP Power, Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ltd., , Fine Organic Ind., and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Dynemic Product(PP), , , Vipul Ltd and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
