Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 11:26AM

Bajaj Consumer(up 2.39%), DFM Foods(up 0.83%), Hindustan Foods(up 0.62%), Jyothy Labs(up 0.60%), Heritage Foods(up 0.48%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.27%), Nestle India(up 0.27%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.22%), Dodla Dairy(up 0.16%) and Dabur India(up 0.04%) were among the top gainers.

Future Consumer(down 2.86%), Vadilal Industries(down 2.81%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 2.44%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 1.92%), Nakoda Group(down 1.74%), Marico(down 1.71%), Prataap Snacks(down 1.58%), ADF Foods(down 1.54%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 1.13%) and Parag Milk(down 1.10%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 26.8 points down at 17498.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 124.45 points at 58728.62 at around 11:26AM.

Enterprises(up 3.43%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.47%), ICICI Bank(up 1.4%), Coal India(up 1.37%), UPL Ltd(up 1.29%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.27%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.12%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.01%), Eicher Motors(up 1.0%) and HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.89%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finance(down 2.8%), NTPC(down 2.26%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.05%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 1.74%), Wipro(down 1.58%), HCL Technologies(down 1.41%), Infosys(down 1.4%), Asian Paints(down 1.25%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.98%) and State Bank of India(down 0.91%) were trading in the red.
