Two arrested for sexually abusing woman in Chennai

CHENNAI: Two men were arrested for sexually harassing a woman who was alone at her house in Koyambedu on Monday.
The two suspects were identified as Arvind, 26, and Ganesamurthy alias 'Kulla Pai', 28. Both were residents of Koyambedu, and were caught by alert residents before being handed over to the police.
Police said the duo barged into the house of the 26-year-old woman after her husband had gone to the Koyembedu market on Monday. They latched the door from inside and sexually abused her, police said. The woman raised an alarm.
On hearing her cries, some of her neighbours gathered outside her house. Seeing them, the perpetrators abandoned the woman and escaped. However, they were caught by her neighbours and handed over to police.
