The varsity however clarified that preliminary investigation has revealed that the data is unmodified.

This follows the report that hackers have stolen the personal data of students and sold it on a hacking forum.

“Just spotted an alleged database of The University of Kashmir being sold on a hacking forum. Threat actor goes by the name “ViktorLustig” selling the database of @KmrUniversity for $250. He shared a Database index showing what he has,” tweeted Abhishek Verma.

Soon after, the university said preliminary analysis reveal that the data is unmodified.
