During the 24-hour shutdown on Monday around 300 picketers were detained and there were incidents in Unakoti, Dhalai and North Tripura districts.

The Congress called the shutdown in support of their 16 points demands, which included cancellation of Agnipath scheme, restoration of law and order situation in Tripura, punishments to those people who attacked the opposition party workers, providing Mudra loan to unemployed youths.
