Youth swept away in Nag River, 50-yr-old in Vena

Nagpur: Two persons, including a 27-year-old man from the city, were swept away in different incidents on Monday.
In the first incident reported from Imambada area, the youth, identified as Shubham Hatmode, fell into Nag River on Monday morning. The rescue team of NMC’s fire and emergency services department failed to trace the youth due to high current.
Chief fire officer Rajendra Uchake said as per eyewitnesses, Hatmode was urinating at the bank of river when he lost balance and fell into the waters.
On being informed, divers from NMC’s fire and emergency services department launched a rescue operation which continued till late in the evening. But it had to be stopped due to bad light.
In another incident reported from a Nagpur rural area, one Rambhau Kotarange (50) was swept away in Vena River at Gumgaon at around 5pm. Hingna police reached the spot but Kotarange could not be traced, said sources.
As per preliminary information, Kotarange had gone for a bath on the bank of the river when he slipped into the waters.
