Bihar political crisis Updates: All eyes in Bihar are now on the meetings called by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U) and the opposition RJD, of their respective legislators, which have triggered speculations of seismic political developments in the state.
- The meeting is scheduled to commence at 11 AM.
- While the outcome will be known once the meeting is over, more than one of the prospective attendees denied the party's ties with the BJP having worsened to an extent to call for a realignment.
- Allies since the 1990s, JD(U) and BJP have in the recent past squabbled on issues ranging from Agnipath, caste census, population law and ban on loudspeakers.
- Although JD(U) supported NDA candidates in presidential and vice presidential polls, Nitish Kumar's absence at a number of functions related to these and his decision to skip Sunday's NITI Aayog meet, coupled with his silence amid the political standoff, has kept political watchers on tenterhooks.

JD(U) meet to start at 11
- The meeting of Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) begins at 11 am.
- It is meant to take a call on the current alliance with BJP.

- All the party MLAs, MLCs and MPs have been asked to attend the meeting and the party's top leadership has directed them not to carry mobile phones at the venue.
What led to worsening of ties between JD(U) & BJP
According to sources, BJP leaders' public criticism of Nitish Kumar had soured the ties between the two allies. But the national party's backing of RCP Singh and dictation of terms was a major blow to the alliance.

- Members of both houses of Parliament and state legislature, belonging to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U),have converged in Patna on Tuesday to attend a meeting at his official residence, amid speculations of a major political move by the veteran leader, senior party functionaries said.

- Bihar Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha has turned Covid positive to Covid negative in just one day.
- Sinha, on his official Twitter handle, had on Sunday posted that he had tested positive for Corona, and appealed to everybody who was in contact with him to follow Covid protocols and get themselves tested.
- On Monday, he again uploaded a message on his official Twitter handle, saying that he turned corona negative "with the blessings of god". "I am returning to the 'Karma Path'. Don't be afraid of Corona. We have to be alert with it to defeat Corona and make our society healthy".
