Self-claimed BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi told the Noida police that the MLA secretariat pass which he used on his vehicle was given to him by former UP minister and current SP MLC Swami Prasad Maurya. Noida police arrested Tyagi on Tuesday after a 72-hour chase from near Meerut.
"On one vehicle, he had pasted a 'vidhayak' (MLA) sticker given to MLAs. On questioning, he said this was given to him by his old political colleague Swami Prasad Maurya. We are verifying this information," Alok Singh, commissioner of Noida Police, told the media after his arrest.
Maurya is now an MLC from SP.
