An ex-assistant professor of English at St Xavier’s University, Kolkata, has quit her position because of her photos on Instagram. She claimed that the university said that she had posted “objectionable" and “inappropriate" pictures of herself on social media. As per a Livewire report, the university also said that her pictures had “besmirched" the reputation of the institute.
The teacher has been an alumna of St Xavier’s College Kolkata and also alleged that she had to quit the college due to sexual harassment and character assassination. She also revealed that her photo wearing a swimsuit was circulated among participants when a meeting was conducted with the V-C (and six others).
According to a police complaint filed by the teacher, the V-C of the university told her that the dad of a first-year-kid had written a complaint where he had revealed that he had seen photos of the teacher on Instagram which were "objectionable" and “bordered on nudity".
