Pradeep Patwardhan died on Tuesday morning at his Mumbai home. All India Radio confirmed the tragic death on social media with a tweet. Soon after, fans of the veteran Marathi actor expressed their condolences and prayed for resilience for the bereaved relatives.

The actor, who was just 52 years old, seems to have passed away due to a cardiac ailment. He was apparently not feeling well for some time.

Pradeep Patwardhan, who was born on January 1, 1970, has always had a passion for acting. The news of his death has sparked a wave of grief throughout the industry. The actor made a name for himself in Marathi films, plays and television serials. Pradeep Patwardhan was well-known as a comedian in Marathi film industry.
The actor was very well-known for the work he had done in theatre too, the most popular being the play 'Moruchi Mavashi'.

All India Radio tweeted about his demise and their tweet reads that the veteran Marathi actor passed away at his home in Mumbai.

Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister, Maharashtra too paid tribute to the actor. He shared the photo of the actor and penned a note in Marathi. He wrote: Pradeep Patvardhan, the popular and much loved actor, who captivated audiences with his elegant acting in Marathi cinema, died unexpectedly. The Marathi art world lost an amazing artiste with his departure.

Renowned actress Renuka Shahane too paid tributes to the late actor.
Pradeep Patwardhan was known for his performances in Dance Party (1995), Ek Full Chaar Half (1991), Gola Berij (2012), Police Line (2016), Mee Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy (2009) and 1234 (2016). He also starred in Anurag Kashyap’s film 'Bombay Velvet', which was released in 2015.
