Minutes after Eknath Shinde inducted 18 members from his Shiv Sena camp and the BJP’s, the Opposition parties came down hard on him for giving portfolios to tainted politicians.
Opposition NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena slammed Shinde for induction of legislators including Sanjay Rathod, Vijaykumar Gavit, Abdul Sattar and Tanaji Sawant despite facing various charges.

Metro services disrupted after commuter on Dahisar forcefully attempts to open platform screen door
A commuter on Dahisar E Metro 7 station on August 7, tried to open the platform screen door (PSD) forcefully. This resulted in, disruption of services on both Up and Down.
This act of the commuter activated the alarms on station. It further stopped the metro train from reaching station as a precautionary measure.

Speaking after the cabinet expansion, the CM said, " New ministers will start their work soon. The government is committed to the welfare of people and develolment of state."

Former forest minister in MVA govt Sanjay Rathod to be inducted in cabinet today
Sanjay Rathod will be sworn-in as a minister. He was a forest minister in MVA government and he had to resign after Pooja Chavhan's suicide.
There were allegations that Rathod was in a relationship with Chavan, both of whom hail from the tribal Banjara community. Chavan had come to Pune to attend an educational course. She is suspected to have died by suicide.
At that time Fadnavis was very aggressive and he was the one demanding the resignation of Rathod
Shinde camp MLA Abdul Sattar, who is embroiled in controversy, to be sworn-in as minister today
Abdul Sattar's name has cropped up in the list of ministers in the Maharashtra cabinet expansion.
However, he was at the heart of controversy only a day ago, as his two daughters and a son's name had appeared on the list of the disqualified candidates in TET.

According to FPJ sources Maharashtra has not followed Gujarat model as discussed as seniors including Chandrakant Patil, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Girish Mahajan have been included in the list.
Incidentally, no one from legislative Council are in the list from both sides.

'Quit India' day: Martyrs remembered at Mumbai's August Kranti Maidan
Tributes were paid to martyrs on Tuesday at the August Kranti Maidan here to mark the 80th anniversary of the Quit India movement. The movement is a major milestone in the history of India's struggle for independence from the British rule. Floral tributes were paid to freedom fighters and others who laid down their lives in the freedom struggle. This is the ground from where Mahatma Gandhi gave the clarion call of 'do-or-die' for independence. People visited the August Kranti Maidan in the morning and offered floral tributes at the Gandhi Smruti Stambh.

Modak Sagar overflows for second time
The heavy showers in the catchment areas of lakes located in the Thane district have for the second time filled the Modak Sagar lake. The heavy showers increased 3,823 ML in this lake in the past 24 hours. So, the lake is now 100 per cent full for the second time.
It first started overflowing on July 13.

Central Railway to run more AC locals
Good news for commuters of AC locals as Central Railway has decided to ply more services.
After the overwhelming response from the passengers, the Central Railway is planning to introduce 8-10 more air-conditioned local train services.
Currently, CR runs 56 AC services on weekdays, which around 35,000 passengers are using with an average of 707 passengers per service which was just 99 in the month of February 2022. Central Railway’s suburban commuters have given an overwhelming response to the AC locals.

Thane records 123 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death
As many as 123 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Maharashtra's Thane district, taking its infection count to 7,35,416, a health official said on Tuesday.
With the addition of the latest cases on Monday, the district currently has 1,099 active COVID-19 cases, he said.
One death was also reported on Monday, raising the fatality toll in the district to 11,932, he said. The COVID-19 recovery count has reached 7,23,015 he added.
