Surat: Two die in separate accidents

SURAT: Two people died after being hit by city buses near Kamela Darwaja and Rander within 12 hours ending Monday morning. Kishan Patel, a 28-year-old diamond artisan, died after a city bus rammed his motorcycle from behind on the Ring Road near Kamela Darwaja.
Patel’s bike hit another two-wheeler and he fell in front of the bus and got crushed under the front wheel of the bus. His younger brother Ravi and friend Mehul who were riding pillion suffered injuries in the accident.
The driver fled from the spot fearing attack by people. In another accident, a 55-year-old labourer was knocked to death by a bus when he was walking on BRTS track near Rander crossroads on Sunday evening. The deceased was identified as Vajesingh Nisarta.
His son, Mahesh, lodged a complaint, stating that his father and son Ikesh were walking on the BRTS track at around 7:30pm when a bus knocked them down. Vajesingh was declared dead on admission at a hospital Police are trying to recover CCTV footage of the spot to identify the bus. Preliminary inquiry by Surat Municipal Corporation revealed that the father and son had entered into an argument and they pushed each other after which they fell on the track. tnn
