JAIPUR: Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) on Sunday finally took the possession of 2,880 sq metre land near Triton Mall for the construction of Jhotwara elevated road.
The construction of the project work was stalled in the stretch as civic body was facing a difficulty to acquire the land. However, after a series of meetings with the landowners, the issue was amicably resolved on Saturday.
A senior official said, “The JDA took possession of Laxman Singh Block near the mall for the project after receiving consent from the owners. In return, the JDA will allot 2,600 square metre residential plot as compensation in Mahindra SEZ to the owners. The allotment letter was also issued by the authority.”
After taking possession, the JDA will erect three piers on the stretch of land. An official said, Jhotwara elevated road project, which was proposed to ease vehicular movement between Panipech and Kalwar Road, is finally gaining momentum.
Not only has JDA taken possession of Laxman Singh Block, but also started demolition of the structures posing a hindrance in the construction.
An official said, “Out of 642 structures, the team has demolished 250. The entire stretch will be cleared in two weeks and work can be expedited. After clearing the land, the work has also begun simultaneously.”
For the 2,450-metre-long elevated road project, work over 1,250-metre stretch has not started so far due to non-availability of land . The project was announced by the
BJP government in the budget for 2016-2017.
