The NSE Nifty index closed 127.6 points up at 17525.1, while BSE Sensex ended up 465.14 points at 58853.07.
On the other hand, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 3.20 per cent), State Bank of India(down 2.01 per cent), .(down 1.54 per cent), .(down 1.44 per cent) and .(down 1.35 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
