4 auto drivers held for cook’s murder in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Saidabad police on Friday arrested four auto drivers for the murder of a 32-year-old cook at Saroornagar recently.
On August 1 afternoon, unidentified persons stabbed Mohammed Nasir Hussain of Gudibowdi in Chanchalguda at Saroornagar mini tank bund. Based on the complaint of Hussain’s family, police registered a murder case. After the investigation, police arrested Javed Khan (32) of Yakutpura, Mohammed Habeeb (34) of Chanchalguda, Shaik Mohammed (34) of Bandlaguda and Kaleemuddin (28) of Yakutpura.
According to police, Hussain used to harass the accused for money and frequently threaten them.
To put an end to his harassment, the four accused hatched a plan to eliminate him. They made him consume liquor at Chandrayangutta and Dhobighat on August 1. Subsequently, they took him to Saroornagar tank bund in an auto. Javed Khan slit Hussain’s throat with a blade. The accused then dumped the body in Saroornagar lake.
Labourers saw the body and alerted police on August 3. Police verified the CCTV footage and zeroed in on the accused on Friday. They were produced before the court which sent them to judicial remand.
