Tamil Nadu: Each district has over 10 people in isolation

CHENNAI: Fresh Covid-19 cases continued to drop as the state reported 1,094 new cases on Saturday compared to 1,141 new cases on Friday and 1,211 cases on Thursday. The state discharged 1,431 patients from the Covid-19 registry, and the number of people in the active cases registry dropped to 10,261 compared to 10,598 on Friday and 10,987 on Thursday.
Chennai, which continues to report the highest number of cases in the state with 239 new cases - a drop from 247 new cases on Friday and 268 on Thursday. After Chennai, the highest number of cases were reported in Coimbatore (127). Fresh cases in Chengalpet dropped to 94 and all other districts had fewer than 100 new cases each. Salem logged 56 new cases followed by Erode (53). While Krishnagiri logged 38 new cases, Tiruvallur had 33 and Ranipet had 31. Two patients one each from Maharashtra and Karnataka tested positive for the viral infection. Ramanathapuram and Tirupattur reported one new case each. There were three new cases each in Karur and Perambalur. While Pudukottai logged five new cases, Ariyalur and Vellore had six new cases each.
Of the 10,261 active cases, there were 3,547 in Chennai, 873 in Chengalpet and 957 in Coimbatore. Every district in the state had more than 10 patients under isolation.
