The verbal spat turned violent and the four accused kicked and punched Sukhvinder Singh. As his nephew Harjit Singh and room partner Jitendrapal Singh intervened to rescue him, the accused Tejendrapal hit Harjit Singh on his head with a steel Kada he was wearing on his wrist, while accused Satnam Singh armed with an iron rod rained multiple blows on Jitendrapal Singh's head.
