Jaipur: 104-year-old patient gets new heart valve

JAIPUR: Doctors at a city hospital performed the heart valve replacement of a 104-year-old man through non-surgical technique, known as transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), in which heart valve replacement is conducted without opening the chest. Amit Chaurasia, director of structural heart disease at the private hospital, said the patient was suffering from chest pain and having difficulty in breathing due to aortic stenosis.
