12-year-old girl repeatedly raped by father

Nagpur: A student of Std VII, aged around 12 years, was allegedly raped by her father repeatedly at their residence on the city’s outskirts. The cops arrested the 34-year-old man immediately after getting an alert from the rape survivor’s mother.
On August 3, the rape survivor’s mother had gone to work at a farmland while her younger brother was playing outside. The girl had gone to school. Her father picked her up from school, brought her home before sexually exploiting her twice between 1pm and 5pm, said police.
It has also come to fore that the man had raped his daughter on July 27 night when the rest of the family was fast asleep. He had even allegedly threatened the girl of dire consequences if she revealed this to anyone.
Police said that one of the relatives had observed the man and his daughter locked inside the room on August 3 for long. The girl broke down and narrated the incident to her mother who had grilled her after returning from work.
On Thursday, the survivor’s mother approached the Hingna police which rounded up the man and registered an offence for rape against him.
Senior inspector Ganesh Kale of Hingna police station said the court has remanded the accused to police custody till August 8.
