JAIPUR: State's chief electoral officer Praveen Gupta on Friday said so far more than 12 lakh voter ID cards have been linked with Aadhaar in Rajasthan as a part of the special campaign - 'from CEO to BLO' - which started on August 1. He said Rajasthan ranked second in the country in linking Aadhaar numbers with voter IDs.
He also informed that while
Madhya Pradesh ranked first in the country,
Uttar Pradesh ranked third. "Under this campaign, all district election officers, EROs, booth level officers (BLOs) are giving hands-on information in government, non-government, private offices, institutions, colleges and schools about linking voter IDs with Aadhar numbers through 'Voter Helpline' app," said Gupta.
On the instructions of the chief electoral officer, the SWEEP branch of the election department had organised sessions to create awareness about the process of linking voter IDs with Aadhaar numbers through the app at government colleges in Jaipur, disaster management assistance and civil defence department, food and civil supplies department, pension department, information and public relations department, anti-corruption bureau and SIEMAT. tnn
