Rajasthan reports 431 fresh Covid cases, 2 deaths in 24 hours

JAIPUR: The Covid situation in the state is changing as indicated by the health department's figures.
The state reported 431 new Covid cases and two persons died of the virus in the state in 24 hours. The overall tally has increased to 12,96,062. The deaths were reported from Baran and Bikaner. From August 1-5, the state has reported nine deaths.

Active cases are on the rise in some districts. Now, eight districts in the state are such which have witnessed spike in daily Covid-19 cases and because of that the active cases in those districts have also increased.
On June 5, two months ago, the state had only one district (Jaipur with 243 active cases) where more than 100 active cases were undergoing treatment, but a month ago, on July 5, the number of such districts increased to three -Jaipur (345), Jodhpur (113), Bikaner (111). Now, as daily Covid cases have been increasing for the past few days, the eight districts have witnessed spike in active cases too.
On Friday, the eight districts which have individually more than 100 active cases are Jaipur (902), Udaipur (212), Jodhpur (197), Alwar (169), Dausa (144), Ajmer (123), Rajsamand (104) and Bhilwara (100).
On July 5, the state had 863 active cases, but in one month, the count has increased by 202% and it is now 2,607.
The daily Covid-19 cases in Jaipur have also been increasing in past few days. In five days, Jaipur's daily Covid-19 infections were 109 (August 1), 106 (August 2), 109 (August 3), 153 (August 4) and 171 (August 5). A health department official said that they have increased sampling in the state.
Covid-19 vaccination doses administered in the past 24 hours increased in the state as the health department launched a special drive to vaccinate people.
