Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Friday at 10:04AM

20 Microns(up 4.15%), Pokarna(up 2.61%), Aro Granite Industries(up 1.46%), Ashapura Minechem(up 1.44%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.74%), Oriental Trimex(up 0.63%), KIOCL(up 0.63%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.25%) and Coal India(up 0.17%) were among the top gainers.

MOIL(down 0.52%) and Dvpt Corporation(down 0.03%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 67.7 points up at 17449.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 230.25 points at 58529.05 at around 10:04AM.

UltraTech Cement(up 2.24%), Grasim Industries(up 1.5%), ICICI Bank(up 1.43%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.41%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.33%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.31%), State Bank of India(up 1.2%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.95%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.91%) and Larsen & Toubro(up 0.83%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Reliance Industries(down 0.98%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.7%), Cipla(down 0.58%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.44%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.44%), Eicher Motors(down 0.37%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.3%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.29%), HDFC(down 0.24%) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.22%) were trading in the red.
