Shares of Lupin(up 1.23 per cent), Divis Laboratories(up 0.62 per cent), Granules India(up 0.47 per cent), Laurus(up 0.23 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.21 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 4.31 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 2.27 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(down 1.92 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(down 1.59 per cent) and Pfizer(down 1.5 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.33 per cent down at 12939.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 15.5 points at 17397.5, while the BSE Sensex stood up 89.13 points at 58387.93.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 ended in the green, while 22 closed in the red.
Shares of Zomato Ltd., NMDC, , and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of , Ltd., Cool Caps Industries Ltd., and Bhagiradha Chem hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , , Debock Sales & Mktg and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
