TN to conduct Tamil language aptitude test for Class XI students to award scholarships

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government is planning to conduct a Tamil language aptitude test on October 1 for awarding monthly scholarships to 1,500 Class XI students for two years.
Based on the objective type tests at Class X level, the state government will award a monthly scholarship of Rs 1,500 for two years. 50% of the scholarships would be reserved for government school students. The remaining 50% would be given to both government and private school students.
"The exam would be conducted in all the district headquarters. All Class XI students in the state including CBSE and ICSE students can apply for the test. Students can only apply for the test only through their schools," a release from the Directorate of Government Examinations said.
Students can download the applications from the www.dge.tn.gov.in website from August 22 to September 9 and should submit the filled in applications to their respective headmasters with an application fee of Rs 50.
The last date to submit the applications is on September 9.
