CET ranking: Karnataka Examinations Authority gets Karnataka HC notice

R Eshwar and seven others have sought for a direction to consider the marks obtained by them in the respective subjects of the qualifying exam (2020-21 II PU) along with marks obtained in CET-2022 in equal proportion, while declaring the rankings. During the brief hearing, NK Ramesh, counsel for KEA, submitted that grant of any interim order (at this juncture) would have repercussions on the whole exercise and added that the authority would like to argue the matter and place its stand before the court. He further told the court that some other students have also filed a petition seeking similar relief. Justice SR Krishna Kumar directed the matter to be posted on Monday.
"The said action is contrary to CET admission rules," the petitioners claimed and added that KEA clearly violated principles enunciated under Articles 14, 16 and 21 of the Constitution by denying equal opportunity to the petitioners vis-a-vis professional courses.
