JAIPUR: The social justice and empowerment department has devised new methods to prevent online fraud and hacking of the system to secure benefits under the social security pension schemes through Jan Aadhar numbers.
As per directions of social justice and empowerment department secretary Samit Sharma, pension cases accepted on the basis of changes in the Jan Aadhar database after October 2, 2021, would be considered suspicious and undergo physical and document-based verification.
The secretary also directed that these cases be marked in red on the department's portal.
Sharma said pension cases that are found to be correct should be maintained. "If pension has been sanctioned wrongly or to ineligible persons, the pension amount should be recovered from them with an interest rate of 18%. An FIR should also be lodged against them," said Sharma.
He also directed police to register an FIR against e-Mitra centres and cancel their registration if the operator is found guilty.
Earlier, the state's social justice and empowerment department had ordered a probe into the hacking of the Jan Aadhar system after dubious beneficiaries were found taking benefits of the social security pension schemes through fraudulent means in Dausa district.
