Congress on August 5 launched a major protest against the government on the issue of price rise and unemployment. Speaking with reporters at the AICC headquarters, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the country is seeing the death of democracy. He said that what has been built brick-by-brick over the past about 100 years has been destroyed by the Modi government over the past few years. He also said that the Congress is fighting not just against the government but against all institutions in the country as well, because all arms of the state have become supporters of the BJP. He said that the RSS has managed to put its men in all institutions of the state. Downplaying the electoral victory of the BJP in Lok Sabha and state elections, Rahul Gandhi said that Hitler too managed to win elections. Rahul Gandhi also attacked finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, saying she has zero knowledge of the Indian economy.
