After abrogation of Article 370, J&K tourism has got a major boost

After the abrogation of Article 370 and 35(A), the J&K tourism has got a major enhancement. Because of the development in infrastructure and connectivity with improved law and order, the UT experiences a rise in the flow of tourists. The tourism of J&K, in 2022, received an important boost as the government made record budgetary distribution of Rs. 786 crores. This is a rise of 184 percent over the distribution for 2021. For leisure purpose, tourists not only prefer to explore the Kashmir valley, many of them come to the J&K to satiate their quench of religious and adventurous activities.


The Srinagar International Airport, in April 2022, recorded the highest ever 102 to and fro daily flights along with the highest footfall of 15,199 tourists on an everyday basis. Calculating the footfall of the year, the government is all set to construct an additional terminal at Srinagar International Airport to serve to the rising number of travelers in the coming years.


The Tulip Garden, the famous hotspot of Kashmir is Asia’s one of the biggest and was reopened on March 13th. It experienced a massive number of visitors with all-time high rush since the time of its establishment in 2007, comprising locals as well as domestic tourists.


Different adventure activities have increased in the valley with the rise of huge flow of tourists, creating more job as well as business opportunities for the locals.
