JAIPUR: Having launched a special campaign to administer Covid-19 precautionary doses, the health department has now set itself a target timespan of 30 days to vaccinate the state's entire eligible 18+ population whose doses are due.
Since the coverage of precautionary doses remains unsatisfactory in the state, the health department has taken the task of providing the jab to the eligible population on priority as per health minister Parsadi Lal Meena's directions.
The vaccination drive will be extended beyond the vaccination sites at hospitals to public places, said officials. The health department's vaccination teams will be deployed at railway stations, bus stands, industrial areas, colleges, schools, coaching institutes, housing societies, and both government and private organisations where a large number of employees work, they added.
Camps will also be organized on the routes of religious marches. Vaccination will also be done at fairs and social gatherings.
"This vaccination campaign will be called Covid Vaccine Amrit Mahotsava. The Centre has made free precautionary doses available for 75 days, beginning July 15 and till September 30. It is an opportunity to the people to get their precautionary doses free," said Dr Raghuraj Singh, project director (vaccination) at the health department.
