HYDERABAD: Task force officials visited the house of Armoor MLA A Jeevan Reddy at Road No. 12 Banjara Hills on Wednesday as part of investigation into the case of conspiracy to kill the legislator. The team was led by task force OSD P Radha Kishan Rao.
On Monday night, Prasad Goud (42), husband of suspended sarpanch of Killeda village in Armoor constituency, had allegedly trespassed into the MLA's house, entered his bedroom and pointed a gun at him. The MLA, in his complaint, said that he managed to escape before being fired upon.
Police said that their investigation revealed that Goud had planned to kill the MLA two months ago and purchased a country-made revolver as well as an air pistol from Bihar. When Goud entered the house on Monday, MLA's two gunmen were in their rooms and no one frisked him, police said.
While Goud was reportedly taken into custody on Monday night, police said that he was still on the run.
Meanwhile, Goud's wife Lavanya disputed the MLA's claim that her husband conspired to kill him. She told media that they had borrowed money for development projects in the village but revenue officials were yet to clear bills worth Rs 18 lakh.
"One month ago both of us met the MLA and requested him to resolve the issue. He advised us to speak to the collector. On Monday, my husband went to Hyderabad to meet the MLA and after that he is not answering the phone," Lavanya told reporters .
